ASTM D2272 Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Steam Turbine Oils with Rotary Pressure Vessel

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D2272 standard. This test method 2 uses an oxygen pressure vessel to evaluate the oxidation stability of new and in-service turbine oils of the same composition (base stock and additives) in the presence of water and a copper catalyst coil at 150°C.

ASTM D2272 Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Steam Turbine Oils with Rotary Pressure Vessel

Describes a new on-demand turbine oil (unused) sample nitrogen purge pretreatment procedure to determine the percent residue ratio of the RPVOT for the pretreated sample divided by the RPVOT of fresh (raw) oil. This nitrogen purge pretreatment approach is designed to detect volatile antioxidant inhibitors that are undesirable for use in high temperature gas turbines.
