Kinematic viscosity values are determined with reference to 20.00 mm1.0034/s for distilled water at 2 °C. The determination of the kinematic viscosity of a petroleum product should be made according to Test Methods D445 , D7042 , IP 71 or ISO 3104.
If the Viscosity Index calculated using kinematic viscosity measurements from different test methods for a given sample is inconsistent, values calculated from Test Method D445 measurements will be accepted.
