ASTM D2244 Standard Practice for Calculating Color Tolerances and Color Differences from Instrumentally Measured Color Coordinates

This standard covers the calculation of color tolerances and minor color differences between opaque samples, such as painted panels, plastic plates or textile samples, from instrumentally measured color coordinates based on daylight illumination. Application D4086 should be used to validate instrumental results when it is suspected that samples may be metameric, ie they may be visually the same color but have different spectral curves.

ASTM D2244 Enstrümantal Olarak Ölçülen Renk Koordinatlarından Renk Toleranslarının Ve Renk Farklarının Hesaplanması için Standart Uygulama

For product specification, buyer and seller must agree on the allowable color tolerance and procedure for calculating color tolerance between test sample and reference. Each material and usage condition may require certain color tolerances because other appearance factors (for example, sample affinity, gloss, and texture) can affect the correlation between the magnitude of a measured color difference and its commercial acceptability.

This standard does not purport to address all, if any, safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
