EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D2684 standard. The ASTM D2684 standard covers procedures for determining the permeability of thermoplastic containers to packaged reagents or proprietary products under specified exposure conditions.
The exposures used are intended to simulate normal and high temperature-storage conditions that may be encountered in an end-use application. This test method is only applicable to vessel types designed to allow positive, sealed closure.
Two test procedures are provided by ASTM D2684:
Procedure A is specific for testing with a standard design container only. This procedure allows determining the rate of weight loss (or gain) and calculating a permeability factor.
Procedure B applies to testing of all other container designs. With this procedure, permeability data is expressed only in terms of the weight loss (or gain) ratio for the particular container being tested.
Units - Values stated in SI units or inch-pound units will be considered standard separately. The values specified in each system may not be exactly equivalent; therefore, each system should be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-compliance with the standard. This standard has no known ISO equivalent.
