This test method covers a small-scale laboratory screening procedure to compare the relative coverage and burning time and mass loss of rigid thermoset cellular plastics.
This test method will only be used to determine relative combustion characteristics. This test method should not be used for materials that drip or melt under test conditions.
During combustion, gases or vapors, or both, are produced that can be potentially hazardous to personnel. Adequate measures will be taken to protect the operator.

In this procedure, samples are subjected to one or more specific laboratory test conditions. If different test conditions are changed or end-use conditions are changed, it is not always possible to predict changes in measured fire test response characteristics with or from this test. Therefore, the results are valid only for the fire test-exposure conditions described in this procedure.
