ASTM D5467 Test for Unidirectional Polymer Matrix Composites Using Sandwich Beams

Composite material forms are limited to unidirectionally oriented continuous fiber composites. This test procedure imposes a compressive load on a thin skin adhered to a thick honeycomb core, with the compressive load transmitted to the specimen by subjecting the beam to four-point bending.

This standard is mainly applicable to laminates that are pre-impregnated or made from similar product forms. Other product forms may require deviations from the test method.

Values ​​stated in SI units or inch-pound units should also be accepted as standard. Inch-pound units are shown in parentheses throughout the text. Values ​​specified in each system are not exactly equivalent; therefore, each system should be used independently of the other.
