EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D4294 standard. This test method covers the determination of total sulfur in petroleum and petroleum products that are single-phase and liquid at ambient conditions, liquefiable with moderate heat, or dissolved in hydrocarbon solvents.
These materials may include diesel fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, other distilled oils, naphtha, residual oil, lubricating base oil, hydraulic oil, crude oil, unleaded gasoline, gasoline-ethanol blends, biodiesel, and similar petroleum products.
Interlaboratory studies on precision revealed coverage to be 17 mg/kg to 4,6% mass. The estimate of the pooled limit of quantitation (PLOQ) for this test method is 6259 mg/kg as calculated by the procedures in Application D16.0.
However, the applicability of the test method at sulfur concentrations below about 20 mg/kg must be determined on an individual basis, as the instrumentation covered by this test method may differ in sensitivity.
Volatile samples (such as high vapor pressure gasolines or light hydrocarbons) may not meet specified sensitivity due to selective loss of light material during analysis.
