ASTM D4395 Standard Test Method for In-situ Determination of the Deformation Modulus of Rock Mass Using the Flex Plate Loading Method

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D4395 standard. This test method includes preparation, equipment, test procedure, and data reduction to determine the in situ modulus of deformation of a rock mass using the flexplate loading method.

ASTM D4395 Standard Test Method for In-situ Determination of the Deformation Modulus of Rock Mass Using the Flex Plate Loading Method

This test method is designed to be performed in an adi or small underground chamber; it can only be performed on the surface with appropriate modifications.

This test method is conducted as indicated by the design load and relative to diametrically opposite surfaces, usually parallel or perpendicular to the expected thrust axis.

Both instantaneous deformation and primary creep can be obtained from this test method.

Time-tested tests not covered by this standard may be performed but must be reported in another standard.

All observed and calculated values will conform to the significant digits and rounding guidelines set in Application D6026 .

The method used in this standard to indicate how data is collected, calculated, or recorded is not directly related to the accuracy with which the data can be applied in design or other uses, or both. How to apply the results obtained using this standard is beyond its scope.

Values stated in inch-pound units should be considered standard except as noted below. Values in parentheses are mathematical conversions to non-standard SI units, provided for informational purposes only. Reporting of test results in units other than SI will not be considered non-compliance with this test method.

References to this standard contain more information about this test method.

Values given in SI units should be accepted as standard. Values in parentheses are for informational purposes only.

This standard does not purport to address all, if any, safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.

This international standard has been developed in accordance with the internationally accepted principles of standardization set out in the Principles decision on the development of international standards, guidelines and recommendations published by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
