ASTM D2717 Standard Test Method for Thermal Conductivity of Liquids

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ASTM D2717 testing. This test method covers the determination of the thermal conductivity of non-metallic liquids.

ASTM D2717 Standard Test Method for Thermal Conductivity of Liquids

Applicable to the following liquids:

  • Chemically compatible with borosilicate glass and platinum;
  • Moderately transparent or absorbing infrared radiation;
  • It has a vapor pressure of less than 200 torr at test temperature.

Materials with a vapor pressure of up to 345 kPa (50 psia) can be tested in absolute terms provided adequate precautions are taken to suppress evaporation of the sample by pressurizing the thermal conductivity cell. The usual safety precautions for pressure vessels should be followed under these conditions.

Values stated in SI units will be accepted as standard. Values in parentheses are for informational purposes only.

This standard does not purport to address all, if any, safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
