ASTM D4226 Test for Impact Resistance of Rigid Poly Construction Products

This standard covers the determination of the energy required to crack or fracture rigid poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastic sheets and profile flat sections, as well as extruded or molded test specimens, under certain impact conditions, used in building products.

Two test procedures are included:

• Procedure A is used to determine the minimum impact energy required to cause failure (hole, crack, split, splinter or tear).
• Procedure B is used to determine the minimum impact energy required to cause brittle fracture.
