The horizontal effects used in these test methods are programmed shock inputs that represent hazards occurring in shipping and handling environments. Environmental hazards include track shifting effects, forklift marshalling effects, etc. can take place.
The following test methods are valid:
Method A, Rail Car Switching Effect: This test method simulates the types of shock impulses experienced during loading at the wagon passage using a rigid bulkhead on the leading edge of the test car to simulate the end wall of the wagon passage. By using restoring, this test method can also be used to simulate the compressive forces to which loading loads are subjected during wagon passage. They are suitable for testing individual containers or systems as they are shipped on rail vehicles. It can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of pallet models to determine the effect of interaction between containers during rail change operation effects.
Method B, Marshalling Impact Tests of Unit Loads: This test method evaluates the ability of unit loads to withstand forces encountered during marshalling or loading operations.
Test levels can be changed to represent the mode of shipping and handling used for the item under test.
