This test quantifies bearing leakage and qualitatively reports observations of grease appearance at the end of the test.

This method uses a specially designed hub bearing assembly. A standard amount of test grease is filled into the inner and outer tapered roller bearing cones. An additional standard amount of grease is filled into the hub and the unit is assembled according to the method. A thrust load is applied, the shaft speed and temperature are set, and the bearings are allowed to rotate for a predetermined time.
