ASTM D4964 Test for Tension and Elongation of Elastic Fabrics

This standard covers the measurement of tension and elongation of wide or narrow elastic fabrics made of natural or synthetic elastomers, alone or in combination with other textile yarns, when tested with a constant rate of elongation (CRE).

Refer to Test Method D1775 for determination of similar tests using a constant load ratio (CRL) type tensile testing machine.

Use of this test method requires the selection or mutual agreement of the loop voltage(s) and elongation(s) from which the test results will be determined.

Washing procedures require mutual agreement on the choice of temperature and the number of wash cycles and drying cycles to be used.

Values ​​stated in SI units or inch-pound units will also be considered standard. The values ​​specified in each system may not be exactly equivalent; therefore each system should be used independently of the other, without combining values ​​in any way.
