This test aims to simulate the distribution chain and the many different climates a package may encounter within the chain. This is a conditioning practice that should be done before other tests.
For the purposes of this test, ASTM F2825 defines climatic stress. Climatic stress is the exposure of packaging system test specimens to temperature and humidity conditions for a specified period of time that will simulate the expected conditions seen in the defined storage and distribution system. This test is not applicable to refrigerated, frozen food storage or cryogenics.
