The scope of this specification is limited to preformed, non-reinforced strip gaskets that mechanically lock onto structural steel locking lugs. The seal may consist of a single-layer strip or multiple webs, depending on individual project requirements.
Structural steel locking edge rail will be fixed to the structure according to buyer's specific details. While the scope of this specification is limited to the materials used in the manufacture of strip sealing systems, it is recommended to develop a practical way to test the waterproofing properties of individual systems in the field or in a test laboratory.
Values specified in the inch-pound system will be considered standard.
