ASTM A586 Standard Specification for Zinc-Coated Parallel and Coiled Steel Wire Structural Bundles

This specification covers zinc-coated steel wire structural bundle for use where a high-strength, high-modulus, multi-wire tension member is desired as a component part of a structure. The wire is available in parallel or helical wire construction.

The rope is available in several zinc coating grades and two strength grades as described in the section. The bundle is fully furnished with Class A weighted zinc coated wires. Where additional corrosion protection is required, a Class B weight or a Class C weight can be installed with zinc-plated outer wires.
