EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM C418 standard. This test method involves determining the abrasion resistance properties of concrete by subjecting it to the impact of air-driven silica sand. It is intended to be used as a basis for the development of informed judgment.
A sample is placed so that the surface to be tested is 3 inches from the nozzle. The sample is then compressed and a shield is attached. Sand is sprayed on the test surface for 1 minute.
This procedure is repeated at at least eight spots on the test surface. Modeling clay is then used to fill wear gaps and then leveled. The mass of the clay source is determined before and after the voids are filled. This mass difference can be used to calculate the volume of each wear cavity.
