The detrimental effect of ozone, combined with atmospheric humidity, on the ability of adhesives to bond to rubber requires tight protection of the cords prior to insertion of the rubber.
This test method is written in SI units. The inch-pound units given in parentheses in this test method need not be exact equivalents of the SI units. Both unit systems can be used in this test method.
