EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance service within the scope of ASTM C1341 standard. This test method covers the determination of the flexural properties of continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic composites in the form of rectangular bars formed directly or cut from sheets, plates or molded shapes.
The three test geometries are described below:
This test method is primarily applicable to all advanced ceramic matrix composites with continuous fiber reinforcement: unidirectional (1D), bidirectional (2D), tridirectional (3D), and other continuous fiber architectures. In addition, this test method can be used with continuous fiber reinforced glass (amorphous) matrix composites. However, flexural strength cannot be determined for materials that do not break or deteriorate by tension or compression in the outer fibers.
Values stated in SI units should be accepted as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
This standard does not purport to address all, if any, safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
