EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D4895 standard. This specification covers dry powdered polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resins prepared from PTFE dispersions by manufacturing techniques involving controlled coagulation of the dispersion.

These resins are commonly known as "fine powder" resins or "coagulated dispersion powder" resins. Conversion of these resins into finished products normally involves a process called "dough extrusion" and sometimes includes forming operations such as calendering.
A volatile liquid is present as a processing aid during these forming stages of the conversion and is then removed during the finishing stages of the conversion. These PTFE resins are homopolymers of tetrafluoroethylene or modified homopolymers containing in some cases not more than 1% by weight of other fluoromonomers.
The usual methods of processing thermoplastics are generally not applicable to these materials due to their viscoelastic properties. Materials covered herein do not include blends of PTFE with additives such as colorants, fillers or plasticizers; nor do they contain reprocessed or remilled resin or any fabricated articles because the properties of such materials were irreversibly altered when they were fibrillated or sintered.
