ASTM F 2503 Test for Safety Marking of Medical Devices and Other Items in a Magnetic Resonance Environment

ASTM F 2503 Test Scope

This international standard applies to the application of marking items that can be used in the magnetic resonance (MR) environment.

The purpose of this application is to mark items that can be brought into the MR environment and to recommend information that should be included in the marking.

The standard specifies the permanent marking of items used in an MR environment through terms and symbols.

MR image artifacts are not considered a performance issue and therefore are not addressed in this international standard practice.
