ASTM F1140 Standard Test Methods for Internal Pressurization Failure Resistance of Unlimited Packages

This test method describes the procedure for determining the ability of packages to withstand internal pressure.

The burst test pressurizes the pack more and more until the pack fails. The creep test maintains a certain pressure for a certain period of time or until the package fails.

Values ​​stated in SI units or inch-pound units will be considered standard separately. The values ​​specified in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, to ensure compliance with the standard, each system should be used independently of the other and the values ​​obtained from the two systems should not be combined.
