This test method extends the common practice of zero humidity, or at best a default humidity. Humidity plays an important role in the oxygen gas transmission rate (O 2 GTR) of many materials.

This test method enables the determination of the oxygen gas transmission rate (O 2 GTR), the permeability of the film to oxygen gas (PO 2 ), the permeability coefficient to the thickness of the film (P”O 2 ), and the oxygen permeability. Its coefficient (PʹO 2) can be used in case of homogeneous materials at a certain temperature and %RH level/levels.
