This test method covers a procedure for determining the shear resistance of a geosynthetic to soil, another geosynthetic, or any combination of soils and geosynthetics.
The test method aims to demonstrate the performance of the selected sample by attempting to model specific site conditions. The test method is valid for all geosynthetics. Remolded or intact soil samples can be used in the tester.
The test method is not suitable for developing precise stress-strain relationships within the test specimen due to the non-uniform distribution of shear forces and displacement.
