Roof membrane samples to which the test method can be applied include bituminous, polymer-modified bitumen, vulcanized rubbers, unvulcanized polymeric and thermoplastic materials.

This test method cannot be applied to membrane samples with aggregate surfaces, but can be applied to samples with factory-applied granules.
