The EN 12568 standard, a European standard, describes the requirements and test methods for toe protection and penetration resistant inserts. This standard series has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following titles:
The standard includes requirements and test methods for toe guards and inserts that provide resistance to mechanical penetration and serve as components of personal protective gear shoes. There are two types of nose. The internal toe is a part that is placed inside the shoe and under the upper. The external toe, on the other hand, is a toe piece placed on the shoe and above the upper part.
Nose guards must be clearly and permanently marked with the following information: nose size, left or right, manufacturer's identification mark, manufacturer's type designation, S or 200 J for safety clearances, P or 100 J for protective caps and the number of this standard.
Penetration resistant inserts must be marked with the following information: insert size, manufacturer's identification mark, manufacturer's type designation and number of this standard.
