The perchlorate content of the fertilizer sample is determined by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry detection after water extraction. The sample is thawed, filtered and analyzed directly by LC-MS-MS. Quantification is performed using the matrix calibration curve.
For the calibration solution, take 5 ml of acetonitrile and quantitatively transfer to a 10 ml measuring flask. Add the adequate volume of perchlorate standard solution given in Table 1 and bring to volume with blank solution.
