In addition, this standard is intended to provide guidance to OIML Member States in the application of the OIML Recommendations into their national laws, particularly in their choice of the applicability and severity of performance requirements, unless specified in the OIML Recommendations.
Based on the knowledge gained from the IEC and ISO standards and the experience of the experts involved in the preparation of this standard, this standard takes into account the operational and environmental factors that govern the use of these tools, while advising OIML Technical Committees, Subcommittees and Project Groups on prescribing requirements for measuring instruments and selecting appropriate tests. .
