IEC 60068-2-66 Environmental Tests, Part 2-66: Test Methods, Test Cx: Humid Heat, Steady State (Unsaturated Compressed Steam)

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IEC 60068-2-66 standard. It provides a standardized test procedure for the accelerated evaluation of the resistance of small electrotechnical products, especially non-hermetically sealed components, to the detrimental effects of moist heat.

IEC 60068-2-66 Environmental Tests, Part 2-66: Test Methods, Test Cx: Humid Heat, Steady State (Unsaturated Compressed Steam)

The test is not intended to evaluate external influences such as corrosion and deformation. It has basic safety publication status according to IEC Guide 104.

In this test, the sample is exposed to very high levels of unsaturated moist heat for a relatively short time. Electrical bias is often applied.

Due to the very accelerated nature of the test, care should be taken in the selection of test conditions as this can have a significant impact on the type of failure mode that may occur.

The test provides three temperatures at 85% RH. The test intensity is defined by the time at one of the temperatures. Care should be taken not to reach the maximum nominal temperature of the sample or the critical temperature of any encapsulating material. The glass transition temperature of a plastic is typical of its critical transition temperature.
