EN ISO 6271-1 Clear Liquids, Color Estimation by Platinum-Cobalt Scale, Part 1: Standard Test for Visual Method

It can be applied to clear liquids with color properties similar to the reference platinum-cobalt scale.

EN ISO 6271-1 differs from ISO 2211 in the following respects:

• Preparation of stock solution for color matching (one way only);
• Control of stock solution;
• Use of tubes with greater depth of view to achieve a more distinct difference between successive color standards;
• The single test procedure given is more accurate.

This International standard specifies a spectrophotometric method for estimating the color of clear liquids in platinum-cobalt units (Pt-Co units). Applies to clear liquids with a color characteristic similar to the platinum-cobalt color scale. For products with more intense colors than the Pt-Co stock solution, the method specified in ISO 4630 is applicable.
