NO 06 A107 Test Methods for General Resistance and Resistance to Climate Exposure and Blue Spot Fungi

Exposure to climate and action as specified in NO-06-A103 can maintain function, performance and appearance within applicable specifications during or after blue spot fungi.

This test is to determine the degree to which the device under test will withstand the growth of blue-spotted fungi under optimum conditions for the growth of these organisms.

When technically feasible, mounting blocks and subassemblies containing components with unknown resistance to fungi can be tested.

If approved by the test sponsor, testing of a device for the action of blue spot fungi may be waived if the following conditions are met:

• The structure, materials and manufacturing process of the device under test do not differ from a similar device manufactured by the same facility if the second device has passed the test successfully;
• While the tested device contains fungi-resistant materials, mounting blocks and subassemblies, the construction of the device under test is such that combining these blocks and sub-assemblies cannot reduce the device's resistance to the action of fungi.

Testing should be performed on instrument samples prior to any mechanical and climatic testing.
