Wind and Rain Test

Strong wind and rain conditions can be found anywhere in the world. Excessive wind can interfere with communications equipment, cause premature wear and corrosion, and limit radar effectiveness. For both legal compliance and general quality control, it is necessary to properly test your product or system components against wind and rain.

Wind and Rain Test

EUROLAB has a long history of providing wind testing for civil and military devices. We can design a test program that allows you to predict the effects of heavy rain and winds and make the engineering changes necessary to develop a better product in general.

Wind Test

Wind powered rain test assesses the effects of falling rainwater on various device and enclosure types. The wind and rain test we conducted here in EUROLAB studies, among other factors, the effect of the penetration of rain and subsequent moisture on water-resistant enclosures, water removal systems (drainage), radio communications, optical properties, radar efficiency, weight gain and blocked functionality mechanical devices includes control of additional components such as thermal exchange and propellant combustion rates.

To simulate even the most severe wet weather conditions, our organization uses a variety of wind driven rain generators with a tandem fan fixture that pushes wind types up to 90 mph. The same test equipment allows wide coverage at lower speeds and easily covers 64 ft x 15 ft (15 mx 8 m) with 4,5 mph (2,5 km / h) spray. EUROLAB can reduce rain spray to any speed and volume you may need. Test items are either tested at functional temperatures or can be heated 50 ° F (50 ° F) higher than water spray to cause further leakage.

Industry Applications

Defense: MIL-STD 810 Method 506.4 provides clear guidelines for wind and rain resistance. In addition to meeting your regulatory compliance requirements, proper testing is required to ensure that you deliver a product that will be reliable in all weather conditions.

Aviation: Rules on water resistance in civil aircraft are set out in RTCA DO-160 Section 10.0. The importance of proper rain and wind testing for commercial aircraft is obvious - when an airplane needs to fly in almost any condition, it should be able to do it safely and effectively.

Telekom: Devices operating our information infrastructure must be able to withstand the strongest environmental conditions; strong winds and rain are the most common.

After all, any system component, device or product exposed to the elements must be properly tested for wind and water resistance. EUROLAB can design a special training program that takes into account all environmental factors and offers useful findings to help you further refine your products.

As EUROLAB, we have the ability to precisely calibrate our tests to replicate different environmental conditions and to determine exactly how these stresses affect your product.
