Acoustic Emissions Test

Different device types have different thresholds for acceptable amounts of acoustic noise. Acoustic testing services evaluate how your product will perform under real-world conditions and whether further revisions are needed to reduce noise.

Acoustic Emissions Test

At EUROLAB, we have years of experience in acoustic noise testing and monitoring. We can determine a suitable test protocol for your needs and complete it to the highest possible standards in one of our many test centers across the country.

All acoustic testing facilities are equipped with the most advanced computerized instrumentation. EUROLAB's acoustic test engineers staff have an extensive background in space systems, defense and various commercial test programs. Their experience not only design and implement a variety of acoustic testing programs, but also design, build and modify acoustic testing equipment to suit any specific requirement.

Acoustic Immunity Test and Measurement

The acoustic noise environment test shows the effect of pressure fluctuations in large air on the materials and functionality of the devices. Unlike electrical noise, acoustic noise can be heard and felt. Common sources include the sound and vibration of a running engine, poorly designed electrical transformers, power supplies, and wind resistance.

Harmful effects of acoustic noise include wire friction, component fatigue, cracking of printed circuit boards, intermittent operation of electrical contacts, optical misalignment, loosening of small particles, and excessive electrical noise.

Acoustic Noise Test and Measurement

The acoustic noise test is a measurement of the emissions from the device under test. Many markets and industries need acoustic noise testing to protect the hearing of technicians and equipment users.

  • Business / ITE: Annoying or loud tones and noises can be heard easily in an office environment.
  • Military: Military and defense products must pass acoustic noise testing to prevent hearing loss, allow acceptable speech communication, and minimize auditory perception by the enemy.
  • Regulatory agencies: OSHA and other international regulatory agencies require the disclosure of the acoustic noise emission values of many different types of equipment in order to sell the equipment legally.
  • Telecommunications: AT&T, Verizon and Telcordia require acoustic noise testing of products deployed in head offices, data centers, customer buildings and outdoor facility environments.

Industry standards including acoustic noise testing include: ISO 9296, ISO 7779, ISO 3744, GR-63-CORE, ETSI EN 300 753, IEC 60601 and MIL-STD-1474D (formerly MIL-STD-740).
