EN 362 Standard Test for Personal Protective Equipment Connectors Against Falls from Height

Connectors conforming to this European standard are used as fasteners in personal fall protection systems, ie fall arrest, work positioning, rope access, restraint and rescue systems.

Connectors should be free of sharp edges or burrs that could injure the user or cut, abrade or otherwise damage the webbing or thread.

Connectors with a self-locking door will automatically lock the door when the door is closed, requiring at least two different deliberate manual actions to open the door. Except for screw connection connectors, connectors with a manual locking door will require an intentional manual action to lock the door and will require at least two different deliberate manual actions to open the door.

Screw-on connectors will require at least four full turns of the screw-action gate from the fully screwed-in position to the disengagement of the threads. Threads will not be visible when the door is locked.
