DAİMLER DBL 5527 Tests for Elastomer Parts with Low Electrical Conductivity

DBL 5527 covers standards to be used for elastomer parts with low electrical conductivity for corrosion critical applications to prevent galvanic corrosion on aluminum and magnesium parts in contact with elastomer parts.

If the measurements made show that there is no potential difference between the elastomer sample and the al or mg sample, the elastomer mixture may be classified as compatible with all material or materials examined.

If the potential difference between the elastomer mixture and the al or mg sample can be measured, the elemental current density between the relevant sample can be used as an additional criterion.
where the current density of this element is below 0,1 µa/cm², the elastomer mixture can be classified as compatible with the studied al or mg alloys.

The test setup described above is not allowed to measure the current density of the sample. special equipment for electrochemical corrosion tests is required for this purpose.

Eurolab laboratory offers testing and compliance service within the scope of test standard DBL 5527 for elastomer parts with low electrical conductivity.
