IEC EN 60614-2-7 Pipes for Electrical Installations - Part 2: Special Requirements for Pipes - Part 7: Aluminum Alloy Rigid - Threadless Pipes

To check the homogeneity of the wall thicknesses of the channels, three samples of different lengths are cut along a plane perpendicular to the axis. The wall thickness at each cutting edge is measured at four equally spaced locations (as far as possible) around the circumference, and one measurement is made at the thinnest point.

Depending on their type, pipes should show no cracks when bent or compressed, or when subjected to impacts or specified extreme temperatures during or after installation, making it difficult for cables to enter, or may be damaged while laid conductors or cables are pulled.

After testing, cracks that can be seen with normal or corrected vision without magnification should be visible in the base material of the duct; the cross section of the pipe should not be unnecessarily deformed. The bent channel is held in a position with the straights at 45° vertically, one end of the sample up and the other down.
