It requires that a fixture hit by a ball withstand any damage that could cause parts of the fixture to fall to the ground.
To pass the standard test, a fixture must withstand 36 shots from three directions. The maximum impact speed is 60 km/h and the ball is a calibrated handball. After testing, the product should be working without any loose or broken parts falling off and without a change in IP rating.
Luminaires to be used in sports facilities and multi-purpose halls must be impact resistant. Glare control (LOW UGR) is also important to reduce any potential distractions or discomfort for athletes or spectators.
