IEC EN 60603-6 Connectors for Use with Printed Cards - Part 6: 2,54 mm (0,1 inch) Edge Socket Connectors and Printed Card Connectors for Single or Double Sided Printed Cards

It covers a range of connectors with 2,54 mm (0,1 inch) contact spacing intended to connect a single or double sided printed card to another printed card or cables.

Two variants are available:

Edge socket connector:A connector with female contacts and printed card connectors with male contacts intended to mate with edge card contacts.

Edge-socket connectors are available with:

• Solder terminations for wire;
• Solder terminations for cabinet assembly;
• Wrapping terminations.

Printed card connector: A connector with male contacts that replaces edge card contacts when mounted on a printed board.

Printed board connectors are provided with solder terminations for single or double sided boards with a nominal thickness of 1,6 mm (0,063 in). An edge socket connector mating with a printed board connector is referred to in this standard as a two-piece connector. The method of mandatory positioning is by means of a guide switch that replaces opposing pairs of contacts, and such a switch is provided per connector.

Dimensions in millimeters are original. The drawings are shown in the third angled projection. Shape of connectors may differ from those given as long as specified dimensions are not affected.
