TS 10316 Safety in Machinery - Standard Test for Electrical Equipment of Machines

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of TS 10316 test. TS 10316 applies to electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment and systems for machines that cannot be moved manually while working, including a group of machines working together in a coordinated manner.

TS 10316 Safety in Machinery - Standard Test for Electrical Equipment of Machines

This standard applies to electrical equipment or parts of electrical equipment operating with rated supply voltages and rated supply frequencies not exceeding 1000 V for alternating current (AC) and 1500 V for direct current (DC).

This standard does not cover all requirements (for example, protection, interlock or control) required or required by other standards or regulations to protect people from hazards other than electrical hazards. Each machine type has unique requirements that must be met to ensure adequate safety.

Electrical equipment must not generate electromagnetic interference above levels suitable for the intended operating environment. In addition, electrical equipment must have sufficient immunity to electromagnetic disturbances to operate in its intended environment.

The undesirable effects of vibration, shock and impact (including those created by the machine and its associated equipment and by the physical environment) should be prevented by selecting the appropriate equipment, installing it away from the machine, or providing anti-protection.

Heavy and bulky electrical equipment that needs to be removed from the machine for transport or is independent of the machine should be equipped with suitable means of transport, including cranes or similar equipment, if necessary.

Where the operation of the machine or part of the machine may present a hazard (for example during maintenance), devices for power cut-off shall be provided to prevent unexpected starting. Such devices shall be suitable and convenient for the intended use, suitably located and easily recognizable by their function and purpose. Where their function and purpose is not otherwise obvious (for example, by location), these devices will be marked to indicate the extent of the power cut.
