IEC 60227-3 Polyvinyl Chloride Insulated Cables, Part 3: Standard Test for Unsheathed Cables for Fixed Wiring

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the IEC 60227-3 test standard. This part of IEC 60227 details specific specifications for polyvinyl chloride insulated covers single core unsheathed cables for fixed wiring of rated voltages up to (inclusive) 450/750 V.

IEC 60227-3 Polyvinyl Chloride Insulated Cables, Part 3: Standard Test for Unsheathed Cables for Fixed Wiring

This part of IEC 60227 specifies the special properties applicable to polyvinyl chloride insulated conductors for fixed installations with a rated voltage not exceeding 450/750 V.

All conductors must meet the appropriate requirements given in IEC 60227-1 and each conductor type must meet the specific requirements given in this section.

The insulation jacket should be made of a PVC/E type polyvinyl chloride mixture applied around the core. If thermoplastic deformation is avoided and a lower insulation resistance is tolerated, PVC mixture suitable for a continuous service temperature of 90°C can also be used at a higher temperature but not exceeding 105°C and for a shorter service life.
