IEC EN 60297-3-100 Mechanical Structures for Electronic Equipment - Dimensions of Mechanical Structures of the 482,6 mm (19 inch) Series - Part 3-100: Test for Basic Dimensions of Front Panels - Bottom Racks - Chassis - Racks and Cabinets

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 60297-3-100 testing. IEC EN 60297-3-100 specifies basic dimensions for front panels, sub-racks, chassis, racks and cabinets of the 482,6 mm (19 inch) series. Subsequent standards of the associated IEC EN 60297-3 series provide detail dimensions for specific parts of the equipment application where the basic dimensions are used as interfaces to other related parts.

This part of IEC EN 60297 has been developed by combining IEC EN 60297-1 and IEC EN 60297-2 in a single document. Both parts have been overhauled to meet the latest market requirements of the electronics industry. The goal is also to create updated documentation and improve the illustrations and descriptions of the content.

Parts of this standard include the dimensions of IEC EN 60917-2-1 and ETSI EN 300119. Combining the two parts into one updates the scope and improves the overall appearance of the modular layout by explaining the relationship between the front panels, lower shelves, chassis.

Rack structures are defined as a series of vertical element pairs spaced at a predetermined coordination width dimension. They are typically fixed to the floor at the bottom and to the ceiling or wall at the top. Each pair of vertical members will allow the installation of front panels, chassis and lower racks in accordance with this series of standards. The coordination dimension of fixed rack structures is equal to the theoretical center distances within a rack assembly. Each vertical shelf member may be separated from or combined with an adjacent shelf vertical member provided that the width coordination dimension is maintained. The heights and depths of such structures are not covered by this standard.
