IEC EN 60598-2-1 Luminaires - Part 2-1: Special Requirements - Standard Test for Fixed General Purpose Luminaires

IEC EN 60598-2-1 specifies requirements for fixed general purpose luminaires for use with electric light sources at supply voltages not exceeding 1000 V.

The provisions of Section Zero of Publication 598-1 apply. The tests described in each relevant section of Part 1 will be performed in the order listed in this section of Part 2.

This edition includes the following technical changes from the previous edition:

• The scope has been changed to comply with Chapter 1 to include all electric light sources;
• References updated to Part 1.

Part 1 Part 0 provisions apply. The tests described in each relevant section of Part 1 shall be performed in the order listed in this standard.

Attention is drawn to lamp performance standards with "information for luminaire design"; this must be observed in order for the lamp to work properly; however, this standard does not require lamp performance testing as part of type test approval for luminaires.

Fixings that bear the weight of the fixture or the external part and the internal accessories shall be provided with means to prevent any part or external part of the fixture from being displaced by vibration during use or maintenance.
