This standard defines the safety and EMC requirements for sockets containing a USB power supply. The features, performance and dimensional requirements of USB technologies are not within the scope of this document; It is defined in the relevant parts of IEC EN 62680.
The corresponding mechanical dimensions of the USB connectors are given in the corresponding drawings in the relevant parts of IEC 62680. Mechanical interference that prevents normal plugging and unplugging or causing partial plugging between respective plugs and USB ports should be avoided as much as possible when considering basic plugs and considering the wide variety of adapters and adapters.
When receptacles are installed or wired for normal use, they should be designed and constructed in such a way that dangerous live parts are not accessible, even after removing parts that can be removed without the use of a tool.
It will not be possible to form a plug-forming contact between the dangerous voltage-carrying part of the socket and the conductive part of the USB port. Compliance is checked by checking using plugs compatible with the socket. In case of doubt, an electric gauge is used, which is supplied with a voltage between 40 V and 50 V.
Terminals reserved for a USB power supply must accept at least one conductor of the same type and size as the outlet in which it is included. In addition, the minimum size of the conductor to be used should be marked on the accessories or specified in the manufacturer's documents.
