(EU) Regulation Tests No. 2019/2015

Electric Electronic Tests

(EU) Regulation Tests No. 2019/2015

Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 published by the European Parliament and the Council includes the following two basic regulations:

(EU) Regulation Tests No. 2019/2015

  • Complement the regulation (EU) 2017/1369 on energy labeling of light sources
  • To repeal regulation (EU) 874/2012

Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 describes the requirements for labeling light sources with or without integrated control equipment and providing additional product information about them. These requirements also apply to light sources placed on the market containing such light sources.

This regulation does not apply to light sources that have been specifically tested and approved to work in certain situations. These are also listed in the regulation annex (Annex IV).

In addition, any light source within the scope of this regulation is exempted from the requirements of this regulation if it is specially designed and marketed in at least one location for its intended use, with the exception of the requirements set out in the annex to this regulation (Annex V).

For the purposes of regulation (EU) 2019/2015,

  • Light source refers to an electrically powered product that has all the optical properties included in the regulation, is intended to emit, or, in the case of a non-incandescent light source, is intended to be adjusted to emit light.
  • Controller means one or more devices, which may or may not be physically integrated with a light source, intended to prepare the network for the electrical format required by one or more specific light sources, within the boundary conditions determined by electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
  • The term light refers to electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength between 380 nm and 780 nm.
  • Mains or mains voltage means 50 volts alternating current electricity supply at 230 Hz.

The regulation (EU) 874/2012, which was repealed with the said regulation, was a legal regulation that complemented the regulation no. 2010/30/EU published by the European Parliament and the Council on the energy labeling of electric lamps and fixtures.

Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, also provides testing services within the scope of regulation (EU) 2019/2015 with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
