EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 50085-2-3 test. This European Standard specifies requirements and tests for cable tray systems (CTS) and cable tray systems (CDS) intended for the containment of insulated conductors, cables and possibly other electrical equipment in electrical or electrical installations and, where necessary, electrically protective separation.

The maximum voltage of these installations is 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. Slotted cable trunking systems are designed to be mounted inside the panel in electrical or communication installations. This European Standard does not apply to piping systems, cable tray systems, cable ladder systems, electric rail systems or equipment covered by other standards. This European Standard should be used in conjunction with EN 50085-1.

Corrugated conduit systems should be designed and constructed in such a way as to provide reliable support, insertion and separation of insulated conductors or cables contained within, where necessary.

Equipment associated with or included with a system component but not a system component shall conform to and require only that equipment's relevant standard, if any. However, it may be necessary to include such equipment in a test arrangement in order to test its interface with the slotted conduit system.

Corrugated cable tray systems will either not ignite when the ignition source is removed, or will not continue to burn if ignited. A non-metallic system component or metallic system component coated with paint or any other substance likely to affect its resistance to flame propagation should be considered a composite system component and tested accordingly.
