The EN 60811 series specifies test methods to be used to test non-metallic materials of all types of cables. These test methods are intended to be referenced in standards for cable construction and cable materials.
This test method is particularly applicable to polyolefin insulation in communication cables. This test is designed for polyolefin insulations of dry cores of unfilled cables and filled cables where the wall thickness of the insulation is 0,8 mm or less.
EN 60811-510 repeals and replaces clause 60811 of the withdrawn EN 4-2-10. Full details of the replacements are shown in IEC 60811-100. There are no specific technical changes from the previous edition, but see the Preface to EN 60811-100. This publication should be read in conjunction with EN 60811-100.
