This Part 60884-2 of the IEC EN 4 standard applies to plugs, fixed or portable sockets for appliances including 16 V to 6 V dc or ac (48/50 Hz) SELV with a rated current of 60 A.
This standard does not cover requirements for flush-mount boxes, but only for surface-mount boxes required for tests at the outlet, and for plugs and sockets that form part of connecting cables or are integrated into or intended to be inserted into devices.
This standard also applies to plugs and sockets included in, or integrated into, or intended to be fixed to or included in extension sets. In addition, sockets for appliances or equipment must comply with IEC 60884-2-2.
