EUROLAB, together with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 60702-3 testing. It provides guidance on the safe use of mineral-insulated cables and ends with a rated voltage not exceeding 60702 V as specified in IEC EN 3-60702, IEC EN 1-60702 and IEC EN 2-750.

IEC EN 60702-3 Mineral Insulated Cables and Terminals with Rated Voltage Not Exceeding 750 Volts - User's Manual

The safety of a cable means that the product does not present an unacceptable risk of danger to life or property when used as intended. Unless otherwise stated, cables cannot be used for purposes other than transmission and distribution of electricity.

The test methods, test parameters and requirements described in IEC EN 60702-1 and IEC EN 60702-2 are provided solely for the purpose of checking the design for safety and quality assurance. They should not be considered to provide guidance as to whether the cables are fit for service under conditions equivalent to the test conditions.

All conductors and cables will be selected in accordance with the voltages and currents that are likely to occur under all conditions or foreseen in the equipment or installation in which they are used. Cables should be constructed, laid, protected, used and maintained in such a way as to avoid danger, to the extent reasonable.

The cross-sectional area of each conductor shall be such that its current carrying capacity is not less than the maximum continuous current that must flow through it in normal use. For the purposes of this standard, the limiting temperature to which the current carrying capacity relates shall not exceed the maximum operating temperature of the cable termination, the cable sheathing material, if any, or any material in contact with the cable.

Although mineral insulated cables have significant resistance to compression and deformation, the installation and use of the cable will not be designed to take advantage of these properties.
