IEC EN 61386-24 Ducting Systems for Cable Management - Part 24: Special Requirements - Standard Test for Buried Ducting Systems

The manufacturer must provide in his literature all necessary information for proper and safe installation and use. The suitability of the minimum inside diameter is checked by measuring the two diameters perpendicular to each other on the same cross section and calculating the average value.

One end of the samples is fixed to the test apparatus by means of a suitable device. The sample is then bent at an angle of approximately 90°. For samples packaged in the refrigerated enclosure, bending is performed within 10 s after removal from the refrigerated enclosure.

The test is performed at the weakest part of the duct connection, except that no sample inlet is applied within 5 mm. Pipe samples are tested in the middle of their length. After the test, there will be no cracks between the interior and exterior that would allow light or water to enter.
