IEC EN 62784 Test for Vacuum Cleaners and Dust Extractors

This includes dust extractors for wet suction or dry suction for commercial indoor use with or without attachments to collect combustible dust in an explosive dust atmosphere.

The construction and testing requirements covered by this standard apply in addition to the requirements for commercial and industrial vacuum cleaners in IEC EN 60335-2-69.

This standard supplements and replaces the requirements of IEC EN 60079-0. When a requirement of this standard conflicts with a requirement of IEC EN 60079-0, the requirement of this standard shall take precedence.

This standard does not apply to:

• Backpack vacuum cleaners;
• Traction driven vacuum cleaners;
• Vacuum cleaners and water suction cleaning devices for home use;
• Soil tillage machinery for commercial use;
• Spray extraction machines for commercial use;
• Hand-held mains powered garden blowers, vacuum cleaners and blower vacuum cleaners;
• Hand-held and portable powered power tools;
• medical devices;
• Machines designed for use in corrosive environments;
• Machines designed to collect flammable liquids;
• Machines designed for use in explosive atmospheres due to the presence of explosive substances or pyrotechnic products or unstable chemicals.
